Mr Barcarse has been at North Cobb High School for 12 years, teaching two career pathways: Architectural Drawing & Design and Engineering Drawing & Design. This Industry Certified program promotes the learning of traditional drafting tool, computer-aided drafting software, and design for preparation in related careers.
The American Institute of Architech Atlanta has enabled students across the state of Georgia to take part in their annual High School Student Design Contest.
North Cobb had been recognized for having at least one student place in atleast for honorable mention, third, second, and first place awards totaling in $3500 in cash scholarships.

The Civil Engineering Club at North Cobb is currently working on a student-led and driven project, dubbed the, "Pipe Project" to improve effected sections of the campus running trails from erosion and standing water due to uncontrolled water run-off. SkillsUSA is a Career Technical Student Organization and a co-curricular component to North Cobb High Drafting program. In its beginnings from 2009 with about a handful of students, the chapter has grown to over 200+ students with multiple Region and State Championships as well as several top 10 National Finalists.
North Cobb Chapter's goal is to not only excell in Technical Skills grounded in Academics, but to also develop Personal and Workplace Skills creating the framework to empower the individual as a world-class worker, leader and responsible American citizen.
